"MOMENTS IN LOVE" starring Benita Charles

Dear Friends:

I hope the New Year - 2012 is treating you well. Things are great with me. I always enjoy this time of the year of new beginnings.

I'm very excited to announce I am reviving my one-woman show, "Moments In Love" on Saturday, February 11th at Bar Thalia - Symphony Space at 9:00 pm - just in time for Valentine's Day. If you are looking for something to do with your sweetheart or you want to find love, please join me for an evening of "love" on the upper west side.

This show is where it all started for me in my performance career in New York. Several years ago, I produced and starred in my first cabaret show in the West Village called "Moments In Love." I sang various popular love songs from different genres to explore the meaning of love. From that show, I started writing original music and my debut CD, Moments In Love: Volume 1 was created!

For those of you who've followed my career from the very beginning, thank you so much for taking this journey with me. It's all come to this special moment! This show is dear to my heart and I look forward to sharing it with you again. For those of you who are new to my shows, I hope you will enjoy "love" from my perspective!

Please join me for an evening of love, great music and fun. It's all about love and love is what you will find!

Much Love,

Benita Charles Music

AS I CLOSE THE DOOR

Dear Lord, as I close the door on the old year, I ponder the things I've done... the things I've said and the joys I've had I wonder, have I lost or won?

I've thought of new friends I have made, and the old ones, staunch and true... the paths of the old year made easier, Lord, because I have walked them with You

I think of all the many times, when my burdens were so heavy to bear, and how my faith slipped away from me but somehow You were always there

Now, as I open the door to this New Year, and carefully peep inside, I wonder what it holds for me... but I'll throw the door open wide.

Whatever it brings to me and mine, I'll meet it with a heart so true... I know that, Lord, whatever it may be, You'll be there to carry me through!

Moody's Holiday Choir's community outreach a huge success at Cobble Hill!

What a great time the Moody's Holiday Choir had at the Cobble Hill Health Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, December 18, 2010!

The residents really enjoyed themselves and they were a great audience! They sang along with the songs and they were thoroughly entertained during the solo pieces.

It was such an exhilarating feeling to give back to the community and bring so much joy to the residents.  It was so wonderful to see their faces light up when we started to sing. All of us felt such a feeling of fulfillment when the show was over!

I'd like to especially thank Mark Lee (our director), Connie Madrid, Joe Melillo and Luis Valentin for taking the time out of their busy schedules to take part in the Moody's Holiday Choir Community Service at Cobble Hill Health Center.  I'd also like to thank Fran Laserson and Jennifer Stula of the Moody's Foundation and Josephine Puchin of Moody's Corporation for making it possible for the choir to participate in the community outreach program at Cobble Hill Health Center.

It was a huge success and the director of the center along with the residents would like for us to come back! :)

That's what the holidays are all about - giving and sharing love & music to heal the world!!

I wish you and yours a happy holiday season!

A Message from Benita Charles

Dear Friends:

I'm sending this note to you to let you know how I appreciate all of your kind support and encouragement for me during this horrible time in New York. By the grace of God, I'm doing fine. Although I work in the immediate area of the WTC, I report to work at 10:00 a.m. so I missed the horrible days events of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 (911).

At this time, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for your support of my creative endeavors throughout the year(s).

Take care and I wish you and your families well. Let us all pray for those families who have lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy.

New York is an incredible city. As we pick up the pieces and finally begin to heal, we are pulling together and helping each other through this horrible time. We are strong and will recover from this and be better than ever. There's a renewed sense of unity that has made us even stronger.

For those of you outside of New York, thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray for us as we rebuild our city.

Much Love,

Benita
