News (Last Updated: June 2010) Dear Friends: I hope you are enjoying the warmer weather and longer days. Longer days mean summer is just around the corner. To celebrate the beginning of summer, I am participating in the Make Music New York 2010 event on June 21, 2010. Hundreds of musicians throughout the five boroughs will present free concerts to celebrate the spirit of New York through music. In the afternoon at 1:30 p.m., I will perform a 30-minute set at McKinley's Children's Garden in Jamaica, Queens. Later in the evening at 7:00 p.m., Benita Charles & Friends have a special program planned at a new venue, the elegant, upscale Billie's Black Bar & Restaurant in Harlem (uptown). Thank you so much to all who came out to support Preachermann & The Revival at Webster Hall for the Emergenza Festival Northeast final competition on Friday (July 10, 2009). Thank you also to those who couldn't come but sent well wishes!
Although we didn't win the overall competition, Preachermann won an award for the "best singer" of the competition! We're all very proud of him.
The next performance for Preachermann & The Revival is August 28th at 11:00 p.m. at The Bitter End.
